If you’re anything like the motivated salespeople I have worked with in the past, you may at some point feel as though you are not doing enough to separate yourself from the pack. You may look at your colleagues and competitors and see little to no difference between your approaches to secure more sales.
If this is something you’re feeling, don’t get discouraged! This feeling is a good thing.
By feeling motivated to do something more or different than everyone else, you are already separating yourself from other people. This feeling is the beginning of creating a certain uniqueness about yourself which your prospects, clients, colleagues and competitors will surely notice! In fact, professional relationships on almost every level will advance; not to mention more leads are created and more long term and profitable relationships are formed.
However, wanting to do more is only the first step. Stepping outside of your comfort zone and doing more is where the real magic starts to happen.
Lucky for you, there is a (relatively) easy way to go from being a run-of-the-mill salesperson to becoming an extraordinary one.
The answer lies in transforming yourself from a seller to a thought leader.
If you’re confused about how to do so, don’t worry. I’m here to guide you through the process!
You can begin this transformation by developing resources that showcase your thoughts, ideas, expertise and value to your customers. Consider creating blogs, audio recordings, videos and any other forms of media that you can think of which will allow you to display your knowledge.
It’s natural at first to struggle with coming up with your own meaningful content. If you run into this common obstacle, try reaching out to your current clients for success stories and case studies. Not only does this generate your first few pieces of thought leader content, but you can also begin to find common threads that will allow you to pinpoint your very own areas of expertise and value.
Once you have evaluated the common threads in these success stories and have a clear idea of what your clients and customers love most about working with you, the process becomes much easier. In fact, you may discover that this newfound clarity is the biggest missing piece between being stuck and creating valuable content.
Your very own transformation into a thought leader will not be overnight. It will take self-evaluation, dedication and time to develop your ideas. Embrace the process, as it will create even more expertise for you to draw your content from.
When you complete your transformation, you will no longer feel the need to compare yourself with other salespeople. There is almost nothing more satisfying than knowing you are creating real value for your prospects, clients and even complete strangers! ← Click To Tweet
It doesn’t stop there. You will also enjoy a drastic increase in your sales and professional reputation. So, the question is, are you ready to begin your transformation?
