Sure, you’ve probably read numerous articles online dedicated to helping you make more sales. You’ve probably seen just as many videos dedicated to being healthy.
Rarely though, are the two concepts ever fused.
Yet, paying attention to your health and well-being is one of the most important habits you can instil to maximize your results.
Think about it.
The best product or sales strategy in the world won’t help someone who isn’t able to show up during the day to execute the strategy.
This isn’t isolated to just being “under the weather.” Even if you do physically show up to the office or the meeting, if you’re cranky or tired, how many positive interactions do you really expect to have?
So, let’s take a look at some important actions you can take to keep yourself a priority so you can show up and maximize your performance.
1. Sleep
I know the buzz around the internet is to hustle until you drop, and that sleep is for the weak or any other one-liner designed to make you feel lazy if you sleep for more than an hour each night. Look, it sounds motivational in theory, but let’s bring things back down to reality.
Get a good night’s sleep as often as you can. That means turning off your devices, and as often as possible, sleep the recommended 6-8 hours so that you’re well-rested and ready to take on the next day.
2. Eat Right
Yes, a “quick bite” from the nearest fast-food joint is convenient, but make it a regular part of your diet and you’ll feel the consequences of your decisions!
Food is meant to provide us with the energy we need throughout the day, and if you’re constantly putting low-grade or no nutrition into your body, well, those feelings of crankiness and fatigue described above will likely creep up on you faster than you think!
I’m not saying you have to weigh your food and ensure accuracy to the very last calorie, but eat clean during the day with foods that nourish you.
3. Exercise
You probably could predict that this would show up on this list in some capacity. You do not need to be an aspiring swimsuit model. But, you do want to get your body moving at least a few times a week. I don’t think I need to elaborate on this point, exercise is good for you and maximizes your performance. I don’t anticipate any challenges to a debate on this.
There you have it. A few simple, but necessary elements to creating sales success.
Neglecting yourself will always lead to neglecting your sales.
How do you ensure you’re ready to take on each day?
Many thanks Colleen for a great post. Much appreciated. — Barry.
Had a boss once that said no eating while driving and no fast food. Stop for lunch at a sit down restaurant. Take a walk. Clear your head.
