It’s no secret that the selling landscape has changed over the last few months. The entire globe has been impacted, and now is the time to ensure you’re aligned with these three ways to sell moving forward.
If you’re going to be an efficient salesperson or sales leader in 2020 and beyond, consider these ideas.
1. Remote Selling is a Must
Who knows when things will “get back to normal”? With each passing day, it seems more likely that the “normal” we knew prior to the pandemic is less likely to ever return to what it was. Sure, remnants of normal will certainly come back, but we’ll likely feel the lingering effects of COVID-19 on our society for years to come.
Remote selling isn’t likely to die down even after the pandemic is a thing of the past.
You need to ensure that your sales team is prepared to sell remotely.
This means that they need to have the right equipment, proper etiquette, and the right coaching to ensure success with selling through video!
2. Your Online Presence Matters More Than Ever
Social media and websites have been around for a long time.
Your web-based presence was already a must-have leading up to this year. Now, this must-have is a complete non-negotiable.
To remain successful in the future, you must remain active on all platforms that make sense for your audience.
More than ever, consumers are researching, learning, and scanning through online material to make educated decisions on who they choose to do business with.
As a result, it’s key right now for you to get your online platforms up-to-speed.
3. Diversify or Suffer
Either you diversify and thrive, or you don’t and suffer the consequences. Well-diversified businesses remain robust in this environment, where non-diversified ones are fragile.
We don’t know how, if, and when new regulations will be placed to reduce the long-term spread of the virus, and therefore most businesses remain not entirely certain how and if there will still be a need for their product moving forward.
As I’ve recently discussed, diversify your product lines and services where possible, it’ll help you remain resilient in the future.
There you have it. These three ideas are critical for your organization and sales team to be considering right now!
